Dziedzic announces candidacy in PM election through loophole

Willow Dziedzic MP has today announced their candidacy in the upcoming Prime Ministerial election, citing a constitutional loophole that allows for their entry into the race.

The announcement comes just days after Dziedzic filed a court case seeking clarification on the definition of a “Member of Parliament”, a move that drew significant attention during the election period.

A late entry into the race

Dziedzic stated that, as a sitting Member of Parliament, they are eligible for candidacy under the Constitution and have exercised that right to enter the election.

They pointed to the wording of Article II, which states that “Members of Parliament are eligible for candidacy”, arguing that this does not restrict when a candidate may declare their intention to run.

As a result, Dziedzic has positioned their candidacy as a valid late entry under existing constitutional rules.

Statement from Dziedzic

I am proud to announce my candidacy in this election. I know that some people, such as Asa, will not be pleased with my announcement.

Just know that I cannot be stopped, vote Dziedzic on election day.

Expanding the field

With this development, the Prime Ministerial race now includes an additional candidate alongside Rowan Mintz and Patreyk Narjid.

Dziedzic’s entry into the race also serves to reinforce ongoing debates around constitutional clarity and reform.

Following recent legal disputes over eligibility and definitions within the Constitution, this move further underscores concerns about how electoral rules are interpreted and applied.

Election continues as scheduled

The Prime Ministerial election is set to proceed as planned, with Dziedzic now officially joining the list of candidates.
